Thank you for your interest in enrolling your child at the Malacca Expatriate School. We will gladly show you around the school if you would kindly make an appointment.

1. Application

The following documents are to be submitted together with the completed Application Form for those wishing to be enrolled at the Malacca Expatriate School:

  • A copy of the student’s previous school report

  • The School Leaving Certificate from the previous school

  • A copy of the student’s birth certificate

  • Two recent passport size photographs of the student

  • Copies of parent’s passports or Identity Cards (for Malaysian parents)

  • A copy of the child’s Health / Immunization Form or Booklet

  • A copy of parent’s marriage certificate

An Assessment Fee of RM 500 payable either in cash or by bank draft/cheque, made payable to Expatriate School (Malacca) Berhad
Kindly note that applications can only be processed when all the above documents have been received. Submission of the Application Form does not guarantee a place at the Malacca Expatriate School as the number of places in each class is limited. Students may be on waiting lists. You are therefore advised to submit the Application Form together with the relevant documents as soon as possible.

You will receive a letter from the school confirming receipt of the Application Form, the relevant documents and the application fee. The school will then inform you when your child is scheduled to sit for the Assessment Test.

2. Assessment

All students are required to sit for the Assessment Tests at the school. Applicants are scheduled for an assessment when there is a possibility of a vacancy and provided the application is complete. Assessments may vary depending on the age of the student.

Please note that the assessment material is private and the property of the School.
Parents are not entitled to view or obtain copies prior to or after the child’s assessment.

If your child has any previously identified special educational needs, we require that you inform the school.
The school does not have Special Needs teachers and is not equipped to effectively support students with learning differences.

3. Admission

A formal Offer Letter stating the fees payable and the terms and conditions of the offer will be made in writing. You will be informed whether an immediate place is available or whether your child has to be placed on a waiting list.

Expatriate Applicants:

Admission to and continued status as a student of the school is conditional on the student possessing a valid Student Pass.
An application has to be made at the Immigration Department for this.

Placement of the child is at the absolute discretion of the School.

Admission is subject to the following:

  • Satisfactory performance in the assessment

  • Student Pass issued by the Immigration Department

  • Availability of places

  • Subject options at IGCSE level

Your acceptance of the offer and payment of the indicated fees must be made prior to your child starting school and before the stipulated date in the Offer Letter.

You will then receive a letter welcoming you to the school with information regarding Class Timetables and Extra-Curricular Activities, Uniforms, Books and the optional Lunch Order.
